Training, Guidelines and Rewards
Once recruited these officers are provided with:
- Basic knowledge in security
- Maintenance of documents/ledgers/files/ log books/ gate passes, etc. to ensure client satisfaction
- Communication skills in relation to language, courtesy, public relations
- Once posted and attached to the client, the security guards are given “On the job” training and basic knowledge with regard to the persons of criminal involvement, bad characters, residing in the vicinity in relation to place of work
- The Senior Security Officer “SSO” will be introduced to the Officer in Charge (OIC) of the local police area to ensure better mutual cooperation and understanding between the Police (local) and the security staff

All security officers irrespective of their ranks will be provided with basic knowledge with regard to:
- Prevention and investigations into property offences
- Security of personnel and property
- Power of arrest by civilians as laid down in the criminal procedure code
- Turnout
- Punctuality
- Relationship with the client “on duty and off duty”
- Basic knowledge in firearms used by the security and as well as those commonly used by criminals
- The “Modus operandi” of “criminals” in relation to various types of crimes
- Training in fire fighting/ public relations/criminal law/provision of security/ use of technology in the prevention and detection of crime - Occasional training and lectures arranged with the assistance of Police officers as well as military officers either retired or serving in relation to their tour of duty
Recruitment Process
- Recruitment of security officers will be based on the guidelines on the regulations of Private Security Agencies Act no. 45 of 1998 in compliance with the extraordinary gazette notification no 1105/ dated 12.11.1999
- Thorough background checks will be carried out on each and every recruit and police clearances are obtained to ensure that none of them have any criminal history or are military deserters
